For the second time Yuan Yuan will present his works at Shopping Gallery. The exhibition will present a selection of works from 2008 to 2009, including new works never exhibited. Yuan Yuan’s paintings are characterized by his technique where brush strokes are all flattened into a smooth plane surface, with vibrating effects as an encrypted image. In his works different urban landscapes are depicted without any human presence. Dark blues, browns and greys give the painting a nocturnal stillness atmosphere.

Yuan Yuan was born in 1973 in Zhejiang, he lives and works in Hangzhou. He graduated in 2008 from Oil Painting Department of the China Academy of Art. He participated to various exhibitions in China and won several prices such as the Luo Zhongli award (2008). Yuan Yuan’s solo exhibition will be held from September 6th to October 11th 2009 in Shopping Gallery.
