Foil Gallery is pleased to open a solo exhibition by Syoin Kajii, featuring photo works to celebrate 10th anniversary of his photo book 'NAMI.' 
In 2004, he got award from the first FOIL Award, judged by Yoshitomo Nara and Maakazu Takei (Director of FOIL), and announced the first photo series 'NAMI.' At the time, he also received the new artist award from the Photographic Society of Japan, and was finalist in Kimura Ihei Photo Award.
The photo works expresses raging waves like a sculpture, and spray minutely. Dynamic waves come with a tense and overwhelming power, but also show a calm side surrounded by silence. His work with infinitely changing and rough but delicate waves rise various feelings to the audience, and blue sea and color of the sky are deeply connected to the spirit.
In this exhibition, including the old series, unpublished photographs will be on view.
