My Serene Spring
by Yan Club Arts Center
Location: Yan Club Arts Center
Artist(s): XIN Luoting, ZHAO Yinuan, ZHOU Xuan
Date: 20 Mar - 10 May 2010

Plenty of the Art zones were razed to the ground one by one after the crazy demolition since the beginning of last winter in Beijing, which even led to removal difficulties for many artists who live in the art zones.

However, we are really touched by the artists who firmly stick to their ideals and beliefs in the turbulent environment of creation. We are certainly obsessed with an expectation of peacefulness in this spring, when the soul has been tortured by such noises.

As the first exhibition of Yan Club Arts Center in 2010, "My Serene Spring" is composed of the recent works by three young female artists living in Beijing. They express their inner feelings vividly in nowadays with the female-specific sensitization.

The cartoon girls depicted by Xin Luoting are simple, pure, young and full of sentiment. Her work shows us a fairytale sweet vision. She seems like to depict herself as the cartoon images, and unite herself in her work.

Zhou Xuan's works are focused on the secret relationship between the ordinary things, such as the man and the woman, or a pile of clothes in the corner with the glass on the table in the foreground. They seem to get alone with peacefully, but at the same time be isolated from each other.

Her works highlight some kind of delicate but strong emotions through the simple compact composition and rich colors.

Zhao Yi-nan’s works are a great carrier for its reflection and imagination, and the free spirit gives the paintings very active appearances.
