It is observed that HK youth lack the SPACE to express themselves, to explore and develop their
unique “aesthetics” and creativity which indeed affects deeply on relationship and problem solving skills
development.

In the light of this, since 2001 YMCA of Hong Kong (situated at TST) have been organizing a series
of creative arts in education programs for the local youth ( aged 14 to 28 ) to explore using various
language of arts ( i.e. photography, writing, drawing, music, theatre, movement, installation, public art,
publishing, fashion etc ) to express their thoughts and feelings about themselves.
In the end of each year, we would like to provide SPACE for the workshops youths to step forward to
polish on their arts language skills. Moreover, they are empowered to share on their dreams, arts
visions through various art forms of productions with public.

After finishing photography and drawing/writing workshops, two groups of youths ( altogether 13 youths ) joined in this project since end of 2007 and early of 2008 wishing to further widen their arts visions by pairing up with 5 Hong Chi Friends ( intellectually disabled youths 智障青年 ) and 9 children ( from YMCA ). Each pair will exchange their monthly thoughts/feelings through arts diary. Daily inspirations can be expressed in forms of box art works or carried in sketch books. At this exhibition, their collected memories and surprising exchange process will be shared.
On site at one of the window displays, you are invited to create art, to exchange on yr arts creative idea as well as to compose up this piece of installation art work. Moreover, at the reception, there will be free distributions on postcards ( limited copies ) with prints of art works exhibit for yr postal game, sending out warm regards to yr friends, exchange on thoughts.

There will be a “meet the artists” gathering held on 11/1/09 (Sun) 3:00-5:00pm on site. Please bring in yr own sketch book to join us on sharing daily creative arts beauties.
