Leaving Traces: KNITerature
by Fringe Club
Location: Fringe Club
Artist(s): Movana CHEN
Date: 9 May - 24 May 2014

Fringe Club presents “Leaving traces: KNITerature – the art of Movana Chen”, a documentation of the artist’s works and her recent solo exhibition.

The exhibition shows over 1500 postcard photo prints from Movana Chen’s ongoing projects “Travelling into your bookshelf” and “Knitting Conversations” as well as her recent solo exhibition “KNITerature”. The photographic installation occupies newly renovated spaces at Fringe Club. Meanwhile, Upstairs theatre features the video of her latest work “Body Container comes to life” respectively in Hong Kong, London and Seoul. It has documented Movana’s performance interacting with people in three very different cities. “Wearing” one’s identity, the artist is eager to explore ways to experiment and to perform with the “Body Container” that expresses the concept of how the human form embodies ideas about our society.
