Oksana SHINKARENKO biography | artworks | events

Oksana Shinkarenko is a very talented and recognizable emerging Russian artist with an absolutely unique and distinguished style.

Oksana discovered her passion for the Arts, drawing & graphic arts in particular, at the very young age of five and has since pursued it keenly over the years. She has exhibited her artworks in numerous national & international exhibitions.
Her artworks are a form of visual expression that is absolutely distinguished in style & conceptual idea. She plans the placement of elements in her art in order to communicate ideas and feelings with the viewer in her own unique way. The composition in her artworks can determine the focus of the art and results in a harmonious whole that is aesthetically appealing and stimulating. The illumination of the subject is also a key element pursued in her own unique style, and the interplay of light and shadow is mastered in a powerful fashion. Her pieces of art are recognizable and appreciated by the viewer at first glance. A superb artist, she is especially identified with the subject of the human nature and over half of her works depict human beings at their daily life in her own absolutely unique style. Oksana’s mature style is distinguished by a conspicuously creative and sole approach to understanding and representing simple human forms in a very expressive and forceful form that takes one’s breath away. When drawing a figure, a skilled artist as Oksana, pays attention to both the area within the silhouette and what lies outside. The exterior, termed the negative space, can be as important in the representation as the figure itself. Objects placed in the background of the figure in Oksana’s work are appearing properly placed and demonstrate her ability to depict her dream-like subjects in a distinguished style and using an amazing craftsmanship and technical mastery.
