In this performance Rune Søchting investigates the logic of sound objects. Small movements are amplified, flickering lights are translated to sound and tiny variations of electro-mechanic activity become audible and turned into musical fragments.

About
Rune Søchting is a sound artist and composer of electronic music based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He works in the intersection of sound art and music composition. He has made numerous installations, field recording projects as well as composed music for videos and live music for performances and dance-performances that have been shown around Europe and East Asia. His debut cd ‘abstrakt’ was released in 2005. He has received working grants from the Danish arts council for 2006, 2007, 2008.

In his work he is particularly interested in the physical aspect of sound and how it determines the shape and atmosphere of a given space. Also a teacher, he has been giving lectures and workshops on experimental work with sound and the history of sound art at various universities and fora. Since 2007 he has been the coordinator for Nordic Sound Art, a two-year Joint Master program for work with sound art within the Nordic art academies.
