Bridge 2009 - the 3rd Biennale by Akko Art Gallery in Bangkok is a presentation of 13 contemporary Japanese artists carefully selected by Kato Shoijiro, whom is the best-selling Japanese artist in Bangkok, and Asian art curator Yuko Ogushi.

These artists represent a wide spectrum of contemporary Japanese art and their medium is also extensive - from oils, Japanese style paintings (glue and pigment on paper), acrylic, mixed-media to fibre.

Akko Art Gallery has prepared paintings that spur innovative thinking while at the same time giving those of you whom are living in these chaotic times in Thailand a moment of relief.  We make an effort to introduce art that is not a one-off excitement, but rather, we provide paintings that one never grows weary of.

In general, most Japanese artists are well-educated and have been trained to a high-level of skill and patience.  On top of these fundamentals, these artists have a passion for creativity.  Our wish is for these talented artists to exhibit at Bangkok’s Akko Art Gallery as a stepping stone to overseas exposure.  Please use this opportunity to immerse yourself in the variegated aspects of Japanese contemporary art.
