Location: Kodama Gallery Tokyo
Date: 5 Oct - 9 Nov 2013

Kodama Gallery Tokyo presents new works by Fumihiro Takemura. The gallery has introduced his at the group show 'ignore your perspective 12' (Kyoto), the first solo exhibition 'Flight' (Kyoto), 'ignore your perspective 14' (Tokyo), and Art Stage Singapore 2013 in the individual booth. The new exhibition will be a chance to see his view of art world.
Takemura has created a multi dimensional structure made of finely squeezed acrylic ink. It looks like one using plastic, diorama or wire, but actually it is an extension of painting so that the viewers can get impression from it. In this time, he supposed that he can catch drawing from a layout. Solidifying squeezed acrylic paint, he made materialized drawing escape from layer. For example, in a motif 'a bridge on the river', he put the bridge made of paint on the described river, thus his drawing became multi dimensional. Rather than creating the sculpture like diorama or architectural model, he reflects spatiality on his painting through the new perspective. Prominent building or trees from the painting shows a new possibility of painting with a specific space in an omnidirectional scope.
