Pinhole Revolution/Architecture
by TARO NASU (Tokyo)
Location: TARO NASU
Artist(s): Takashi HOMMA
Date: 19 Sep - 26 Oct 2013

TARO NASU is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Takashi Homma. Homma has known as the photographer using a method, separating each subject from background or context. There are neither special technique nor dramatic effect, but his work gives an unique feeling of distance with the subject, which presents an essence of photo.
This is his first solo exhibition, and 'Architectural Landscape' and 'Pinhole' series will be on display. Both series exclude the most of independence the subject has, and try to focus on itself. Thus, antinomy, the main character of his unique world through 'lack of independence', makes his world of art more profound. Again, it leaves a chance to add own meaning to the audience as making the subject a state, 'it is nothing'. Photo series throws a question, 'what is a photo?', to us.
With the exhibition, as the special project, Homma takes a photo using a project space 'Taimatz' as the pinhole camera. Finished photo works will be on view at Taimatz.
