Keumsan Gallery is pleased to open a solo exhibition of a glass artist, Jung-Suk Kim. 20 new works will be on view at Keumsan Gallery.
Recently, glass craft cannot get attention in Korea, which reflects use of hi-technology medium and difficulty of expressing pop or conceptual art. The artist, however, conversely shows a new side of conceptual glass craft through unique texture, light, and harmony of color. Especially, Abstract pictoriality in his work has decorative and modernism tendency. LED works still show decorativeness and penetrability of light which are what glass crafts in the past have had. A mix of light and color, pictoriality and abstract, and esthetic decoration presents that the artist is good at making use of the medium, 'glass,' rather than he is the 'glass' artist.
