by Fei Contemporary Art Center
Location: Fei Contemporary Art Center
Date: 22 Feb - 15 Mar 2009

Opening Reception: Feb 21 2009 (Sat) 3.30 pm

The entire exhibition is an installation based on the inspiration which the artist got from two household plates in blue-and-white ceramic. One being chinese manufactured for export to Europe, the other one is a british “Blue Willow”-pattern industrialization product  transforming its chinese model. Both products being made around  1800.

The historical relationship of these two plates opened a hyperphysical space to the artist, in which the process of globalization, as well as the irritation of a cultural appreciation is the subject.

Yip Lap Wing tries to show with his installation the manipulation of the landscape image which reflects the subjective deformation of nature.
