Date: 19 Jun - 31 Aug 2014

Galeri İlayda is very pleased to present “Themeless/Contactless 4” , a group exhibition of 9 gallery artists.

The exhibition includes works of paintings, sculpture and installation by Atilla Galip Pınar, Aysel Alver, Barış Cihanoğlu, Damla Özdemir, Elvin Karaaslan, Nurdan Likos, Gazi Sansoy, Işıl Ulaş and Özcan Uzkur.

The exhibition; reveals artists’ different point of views within singular living conditions, aimed at performing in a themeless manner without any contact with the artificial nor similarized system, and each under an unrestricted heading.

Atilla Galip Pınar is intense questioning the trendy topic “awareness” in his paintings. Aysel Alver wants the audience to experience the loss of moral and ethical values through a psychoanalytic approach by her sculptures exhibited at the gallery. Barış Cihanoğlu known with his distinctive art language and extraordinary view among contemporary young artists, examines, people’s uncertanity in society, propriate striving and the feeling of being caught in between of the world and the inner self, in a broad meaning the problems and sense of belonging that staying in purgatory brings. Damla Özdemir is taking attention with her 3 dimensional collages. Elvin Karaaslan The central theme of the artist’s work is the concept of perception. Gazi Sansoy is joining the exhibit with his two parallel series which have rather different visual languages and constructs, named as “Faceless”& “Miniature”. We witness the stories of the Işıl Ulaş’s “characters” which comes from her chilhood or from now in her sculptures and painting. Nurdan Likos emphazies the “womanhood” in her works, hitting the road this time with other women’s stories. Özcan Uzkur is consctructing “bodies” using lace.
