The inaugural exhibition highlights an important direction for Asia Art Collective in promoting the collection of Singaporean art.
Three senior artists Lim Tze Peng, Peh Eng Seng and Eng Siak Loy represents a generation of artists who have lived through Singapore's early nation building years. Each artist has devoted over fifty years to their craft, marked by persistent passion and unrelenting dedication for their artistic expression.
At 92 years old, Lim Tze Peng is the most significant living artist in Singapore and winner of prestigious Cultural Medallion in 2003. Reminiscene features some of Lim Tze Peng's most iconic and treasured oeuvre of his earlier Bali series, Fishing Village series and Kampung life series.
An established second generation watercolour artist, Peh Eng Seng has received high praise for his outstanding talent amongst his peers. After a 10 year hiatus from the exhibition spotlight, the 73-year old artist is pleased to present his most exceptional works at Reminiscence. Peh Eng Seng creates a tranquil ambience in his works using soft tones of light and textures. The image of livelihood and culture portrayed by the artist evoke nostalgia and an age-old flavour that is most alluring.
An important national designer of numerous stamp collections and other award-winning designs, Eng Siak Loy is the only Singaporean commissioned to design the "Portrait series" currency notes in circulation. At 72 years old, Eng Siak Loy has made many contributions to Singapore's art and design scene and is also known as one of the most versatile and creative local artist. Specializing in oil paintings, Eng Siak Loy's bold impressionistic strokes strike a perfect balance between realism and abstract expression. With a retrospective vision of old Singapore, Eng Siak Loy captures the heart of Reminiscence.
