Displace_pivot is two kinetic light installations. We perceive motion by switching between visual and kinesthetic information, and yet those two sensory modes not always agree with one another. This work inspired by the idea of motion perception, experimenting with the idea of a visual point of reference or orientation in an isolated container, with minimal visual elements as reference points. These devices use electronics and mechanics to control moving patterns, creating an abstract and self-enclosed space of lines and dynamic grid patterns isolated from the external environment.
