100 ft. PARK presents their first exhibition at their new space in Prince Edward, "Deux" - solo exhibition of Iris Sham.
Iris Sham sees pair as complete: meaning comes from “1+1”, possessing and losing form the duality. She thinks that every story is part of another story – either its prelude or postlude. Every space contains stories left behind by its passers-by. With pairs of images, the artist aims to tell stories by portraying the fluidity of time and the change of aura of spaces. She deliberately leaves the audience to ponder how subtly relationships are formed out of small traces of daily life.
Iris Sham was born in Hong Kong in 1985. She graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a double degree in Government and Laws. She has participated in the Hong Kong Photography Festival 2011, Dali International Photography Exhibition 2013, Lianzhou International Photography Festival and "Big Bang Wagner” of Taipei Arts Festival 2013. Her photos have been featured in the photobook “80+-”, Ming Pao, Hong Kong Economic Journal and various books published in Mainland China and Taiwan.
