Growth is the progression from small to large, the continuation of movement, a symbol of vitality. Young artists are like tenacious sprouts striving for growth, full of vigor. The 2013 Annual New Young Artist Selection is a public platform aimed at young Chinese artists worldwide which is open to submissions from young artists both from within China and overseas.
The competition is organised by East China Normal University School of Design, SMG Art and K11 Art Foundation. The winning pieces will be displayed at chi K11 Art Space on floor B3 of the K11 Art Mall, Shanghai from December 16th, 2013 to January 14th, 2014.
The booming growth of young artists has become a popular topic in current art research. It is the central goal of the event to use the language of art to convey insights into the world and reflections on art. The organisers hope that the event will encourage young artists in their passion for creativity to propel the future development of the world of art. Young artists can express their own perspectives on reality in the competition to show their own worlds of art and impart their humanism on the future.
