AO Vertical presents: Hong Kong Yesterday, an exhibition featuring Ho Fan. Described as a ‘poet with a camera’ or the Ansel Adams of Hong Kong; Ho Fan's images are vintage yet contemporary. Ho Fan is regarded as Asia’s most influential photographers of his generation, winning more than 280 awards in international competitions since 1956. Ho Fan’s work is finally returning to Hong Kong with a first major solo exhibition showing a special selection of vintage images capturing Hong Kong half a century ago. The exhibition will draw viewers into the world of an extraordinary artist.
‘Hong Kong Yesterday’ will show a selection of his vintage work including his award-winning photographs, such as ‘Approaching Shadow’ and ‘Private Life’, some as original vintage prints and others newly produced from old negatives. Ho Fan will also feature some of his latest work; double or multiple exposed photographs derived from old negatives.
