Primo Marella Gallery presents the first exhibition of a new exciting season. “Beyond the Walls” is the title of the solo exhibition by the talented Indonesian artist Adtya Novali (1978).

Aditya’s installations invite the viewer to interact with them. Jim Supangkat, Indonesian critic and curator, describes Aditya’s pieces as “rotable paintings”. This idea of interaction is dementing both for the artist and the viewers. The artist delivers part of his authority on the artworks to the audience, which is asked to have an active role. The public interplays with the installations to create different visual combinations.

The artworks shown in the exhibition take into consideration themes as functionality and motion, that the artist skilfully associates with his self-critic and analytic reading of the socio-political reality.
