Touch
by YY9 Gallery
Location: YY9 Gallery
Artist(s): Gloria YIP, Antonio WONG, SIU Kam Han, Yokky WONG
Date: 23 Mar - 30 Apr 2012

YY9 Gallery is pleased to present “Touch”, a group exhibition featuring new works by Antonio Wong, Gloria Yip, Siu Kam Han and Yokky Wong. In the exhibition, the four artists attempt to express the sense of “touch” as an essential, innate feeling within human beings and hence present their inner thoughts towards “touch” by using clay as a media of creation.

Antonio Wong’s new work “Moonlight, Tree and Shadow in a cold mid-night” recalls his memory in the artist-in-residence program he participated in Japan in 2007. In this installation, Antonio created two seeds of maple tree with porcelain and black leather, which gave him a special feeling underneath the moon. Gloria Yip’s work “Cycle” playfully embeds the curiosity to seek reality and illusion. Through her work, Gloria tries to open the unseen wounds for reborn. Siu Kam Han’s installation work “Hold‧ 30mins” features the properties of gypsum powder and invites participants to have a mind and body connection to share Siu’s experience of “Awareness” in a meditation practice. The concept of Yokky Wong’s work is to break pieces of well-finished dishes and then re-composite them, thus giving numerous unforeseeable results. Yokky is very much fascinated by the process in which thousands of possibilities emerge in a fun and surprising way.
