Although we see a lot of familiar faces around us every day, we don't ever consider introducing ourselves to those faces. Repeatedly meeting but not knowing each other creates a subtle relationship between us and strangers. Does ir mean we have no connection with them?
YY9 Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition by Evangelo Costadimas, Galen Tse, Karen Cheung and Silas Fong. Together, they explore the connection of passers-by on the street through various media of video, photography and ceramics. Evangelo Costadimas uses street photography to explore ways in which the observed human moments can be used to create images that emotional distance between people, scenery and objects through his photographic work. Karen Cheung's ceramic work intends to express the distance between people with a polar bear and a penguin. In Silas Fong's video, ge records people travilling on esculators, stages a play of eye contacts through still and moving images.
