Jiwye To was born in Hong Kong in 1956. Since 1982, he has participated in numerous local and overseas exhibitions. His works are being collected by Shanghai Art Museum, Macau Urban Counil Gallery, Canada Simon Fraser University, The University of Sydney and private collectors. From 1986 to 19889, To studied art and philosophy in Hong Kong Buddhist College. Over 3 years of studies, after constant study and research, a distinct direction and cultural concept — develop his art by starting from the integrity of Chinese culture — has gradually appeared in To's mind and works. The idea of Zen and Phenomenology become his view on life, the nature and elements of his art.
