Choi Bom's third solo exhibition will be held in Gallery Lux. 'Photographic Reconstruction 2: Pyramid' is an extended work of 'Photographic Reconstruction' series, exploring technical reproduction of photograph, variability of print size, and 'uniqueness' of photo collage.
"The new works places in a boundary or cross linked point between duplicability of photographs and traditional artwork, and they are more picturesque.", Choi Bom said. 'Picturesque' is a concept created in Europe in late 18th century, and it means that depicting unusual scenery of nature or the wild like 'painting' according to a concept of 'travel' proliferation. Choi Bom selected 'picturesque' as a new motif and he went Monglia. The artist expressed Mongolian desert, grassland and night in pictorial photograph. His photograph collage of pyramid consists of reproducible digital color print and monochrome silver print, which provides a curious and mysterious beauty.
