Under the theme of "Transformation," this exhibition explores Existence, Evolution, Revolution and Re-birth. We explore not only the Transformation of Oneself but also the Transformation of our Society, World and Cosmos through the eyes, hearts and minds of a galaxy of talented South Asian Artists.
The abstract concept of ‘Transformation” has inspired innumerable artworks throughout the ages, in almost every culture. Yet, it seems appropriate to revisit it once again, as rapid technological advances and societal changes sweep away traditional forms blurring the boundaries between the real and the virtual.
At this exhibition, a variety of images that traverse the mind – real, imaginary, virtual and spiritual are unveiled through a diverse body of artworks. Together, the "Transforming" forms presented express a myriad of thoughts, fears, hopes and dreams.
The artworks presented provoke questions and seek to act as a catalyst for social change. Simultaneously, they also seek to explain a by providing a guiding light that creates an understanding of the complex mutations and dynamic forces in play in the Universe.
The viewer is left with a choice of multiple roles - one of a silent witness admiring the marvels and mysteries of ‘Lila” or Divine Play, one of an activist who gives shape to cultural change or one of a spiritual practioner who is inspired to embark on a journey of personal transformation, self-realization and transcendence.
