Location: Wako Works of Art
Artist(s): Carla Arocha · Stéphane Schraenen
Date: 23 Mar - 2 May 2013

This is Carla Arocha · Stéphane Schraenen's first exhibition in Japan from 23th March.
They usually make solid work or photograph, and their works evoke an existence of light significantly to the audience, like a desk or chair using mirror-like finishing, a dual structure of a mirror with transparent glass, or moiré-shaped installation. This style reminds of pop art or minimalism, but each art work has fresh and modern appearance with calculated arrangement, sharp edges, delicate lines. Their work takes various express ways but tells the light itself constantly, and has strong moves by emotion. As adding surrounding objects on a face of the work, its appearance is changed by angle or time intricately, which gives a sort of intoxication to the audience.
