Dear art lovers,

Artist Tam Wai Ping embarked on a photographic and writing journey three years ago. Now this personal journey finally makes its debut appearance in Hong Kong.

Life Pilgrimages: Tam Wai Ping Solo Exhibition, featuring photographic works taken in Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Japan and Hong Kong, will run at 1a space from 28 Nov 2008-4 Jan 2009. More than just photographs, this exhibition is an installation transporting 12 tons of soil onto the gallery floor.

The opening of the exhibition is scheduled on Friday 5 December 2008. There is also an interactive artist meeting to be held on Saturday 13 December 2008.

As one of the founders of ArtMap, Tam Wai Ping also documented his thoughts on this Asian journey in the form of words. Attached are extracts taken from his writings.
