Yuji Mizuta is a Tokyo based textile designer known for his distinct painting like patterns. With his delicate and detailed expression, Mizuta has been creating spidery images which hold a sense of secrecy, along with layers of inspirations from various cultures he successfully has been creating textiles with a story and a feeling of time.
Freed from realms and genre, Mizuta continuously challenges the boundary of design and art, exploring a world that can only be created through his interpretation.
After his first solo exhibition abroad in Copenhagen in 2013 “( Portrait/Multiverse/Synchronicity”) Mizuta has been motivated in creating works from the restrictions of textile. This will be his first solo drawing exhibition, showcasing a new body of works portraying not only the detailed delicate side of his works which have been seen in his textile but with the more musculine powerful brush strokes.
