Smashed and Revive the Profile of the Time
by Project Fulfill Art Space (PF Art Space)
Location: Project Fulfill Art Space
Artist(s): LIN Jun Liang
Date: 1 May - 30 May 2010

The “Unname,” here means temporary saved files in the computer, the phase when the objects have not been given the accurate names, rather than not be able to be named, or cannot be defined. In the computer, the default files, pre-exist to be officially named, are all using “Un-” to arrange the objects into the future tense time dimensions, and to be included into the wait list for giving names. When “Named” and “Unname” are ambiguous, the code “%” exists right away which represents the strong and weak signal in the content of massages. % of thickness/ thinness or concentration/ dilution will then produce the heat and cooling spaces which measured by accumulating the signals.

The way of delivering the signal, simple yet complicated, is quite abundant, but the result has been simplified. Although it fits the accelerating and speeding requests in our modern life, the content has lied in between of distinct and indistinct. Therefore pause (temporarily saved) is the device for pursuing distinct; it makes the connection from the sight to the brain to halt and decelerate. Through the links between codes and cubes of square in Lin Jun Liang’s works, the identifiable lines and the profiles of message shall be constantly preserved. Interlaced distinct and indistinct images have fulfilled the imaginations and perceptions of viewers who are then fascinated by the unpredictable twists and deformations.
