Established in 1998, SeoulAuction is Korea's oldest and leading art auction house. It has hold over four auctions a year in Korea on a regular basis since 1998. Starting with the first Hong Kong Sale in 2008, SeoulAuction holds auctions offering antique and modern artworks, from home and abroad, every spring and fall in Hong Kong. In 2008, SeoulAuction became the first Korean auction house to be listed on KOSDAQ (Korean Securities Dealers' Automated Quotation) and boasts over 50% of the market share in Korea's art auction market. 

Headquartered in Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul, SeoulAuction has branch offices and showrooms in the major regions in Korea and Asia, including its Gangnam branch office in Sinsa-dong, Seoul Busan branch office in Busan, Hong Kong Limited and Seoul Auction Beijing Representative Office.

Seoul auction Hong Kong Limited was established in 2008 with its inaugural sale in October in the same year. The top lot of this auction was Roy Lichtenstein's Still Life with stretcher; Mirror: Bowl of food sold for HKD 62,000,000(hammer price.) Seoul Auction Hong Kong Limited was the first auction house which sold the western modern and contemporary art in Hong Kong, and every sale Seoul auction has tried to introduce major International art works to Hong Kong and Asian clients.

Seoul Auction is the biggest advocate of Korean art in Hong Kong. Beside bi-annual auctions, Seoul Auction has presented a number of exhibitions of Korean artists including Yi Hwan Kwon, Sa Sukwon, Lee Leenam and Park Daesung. Seoul auction has also been presenting lectures and gallery/artist talks on Korean contemporary artists to promote Korean art in Asia market.

Seoul Auction opened its Beijing Representative office in 2011 to reach out to China market.
