Temporary Agency by Lizzy Sampson & Hervé Senot
Date: 7 Mar - 5 Apr 2014

Temporary Agency examines productivity and the meaning of work, by collating and interpreting tasks picked from our Random Assignment Database (R.A.D). The exhibition considers what constitutes “productive” time, what value can be derived from a seemingly absurd task, and if a cohesive narrative can emerge from many individual contributions. Contribute to the project now by exploring the R.A.D.

Lizzy Sampson graduated in 2012 with a Masters of Fine Art from RMIT University. In 2013 Lizzy undertook residencies at Blindside ARI and CAMAC (France), was the recipient of both the inaugural Firstdraft Show Support grant and the Abbottsford Convent Foundation Studio Start-up initiative and was awarded an Australia Council for the Arts Artstart grant. Her work questions established systems, structures and values, and invites the viewer to do the same.

Hervé Senot is an information worker pursuing environmental sustainability and social justice. He has specific interests in the interface between people and systems, data visualisation and collaborative approaches. He works with sensors, real-time data, maps, energy and transport networks.

In collaboration, they are exploring cross-disciplinary communication approaches to topics of shared interest.
