New City Art Fair 2013
Artist(s): GROUP SHOW
Date: 7 Mar - 10 Mar 2013

On a mission to deliver contemporary Japanese art to art lovers around the world, NEW CITY ART FAIR first opened its doors to the public in New York in March 2012. 35,000 people crowded together for its second volume held in Taipei in November 2012 revealed the great interest in Japanese creatives. In its third volume, NEW CITY ART FAIR will be back in New York in March 2013 to join the ARMORY ARTS WEEK.

During this particular season, art collectors and people in art business from all over the world swarm over New York to attend art fairs such as The Armory Show, VOLTA, Independent, SCOPE, ADAA, and Pool Art Fair. Among these fairs, NEW CITY ART FAIR will demonstrate its uniqueness as the only contemporary Japanese art fair by introducing outstanding art works from Japan to cultivate the global market.

Selected highlights from exhibitors include works of Gutai Art Association (showing with ART-U room), who will be featured at the Guggenheim Museum in this February 2013; Shusuke Ao's installation of innumerable paper airplanes entitled Operation "A" (showing with eitoeiko); Works of Yoi Kawakubo(with hpgrp GALLERY TOKYO) whose photographs were shot under twilight and are the result of many trial-and-error shutter speeds.
