Art13 London, the city's truly global art fair launching in Spring 2013, is the first modern and contemporary art fair to showcase galleries from all over the world, with a major presence from Asia, Africa, Latin America as well as western Europe and the US. Featuring over 100 galleries, Art13 London will, for the first time, provide the opportunity to see the extraordinary quality and variety of art produced around the world - establishing a global art fair for a global city. The first edition will take place at Olympia Grand Hall, London from 1-3 March 2013 (VIP Preview: 28 February 2013).
The Fair, founded by Art Fairs London Ltd, the organisers behind ART HK: Hong Kong International Art Fair, of which Art Basel acquired a majority stake in 2011, will be directed by Stephanie Dieckvoss. Stephanie has worked in the art world for 15 years and will draw on her experience as Fair Manager at Frieze Art Fair (2003-2006) and as Co-Director of ART HK: Hong Kong International Art Fair (2007-2009). The Fair is designed for seasoned collectors and high net worth individuals alike based both in London and overseas, many of who are now building significant collections of international contemporary art. There will be a full VIP programme and a supporting curatorial programme.
Main Section
The Main Gallery section will comprise of the most inspiring and innovative galleries showing art from across the globe. It will showcase modern as well as contemporary galleries with artworks varying in size, media and style.
Photography
Photography has been a key artistic form almost since its invention. The fair will feature a dedicated section inviting leading photography galleries to exhibit, and draw attention to a medium that has changed the way we look at art.
Prints and Editions
Prints and editions, as well as multiples, are an important part of many collections. Through showcasing the leading producers in this field worldwide, the fair not only allows novice collectors to find interesting works by leading artists but also seasoned collectors to find hidden gems, exciting projects and unexpected collaborations.
Young Galleries
Young galleries often take big risks in supporting emerging artists. The Young Galleries section will offer smaller stands at a discounted rate to galleries from around the world, allowing them to showcase featured artists in a curated environment. Galleries must apply with projects for this section. The generous space available inside and outside Olympia Grand Hall invites galleries to showcase art that does not fit within the perimeters of a stand, and we will encourage galleries to apply to showcase sculptures and installations outside the gallery area.
