In 2013, Art Paris Art Fair is confirming its identity as the art event that focusses on the art scenes the East (Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia). With 74 newcomers to the fair, the 2013 selection brings profound changes and a notable expansion of its international dimension. This year, 20 countries are represented (compared to 16 in 2012) and a total of 43% of participants are from abroad.
Russia, Guest of Honor
In line with its policy of exploring the art scenes of the East, Art Paris Art Fair has invited Russia as guest of honour. A central space in the fair will be dedicated to some 11 galleries from a number of cities in Russia including, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Rostov on Don and Vladivostok while some 15 European galleries will show work by Russian artists. With around 90 artists represented, Art Paris Art Fair will be an opportunity to discover or rediscover Russian art from the 1930s to the most contemporary production.
Promises: A New Section for Young Artists
This year Art Paris Art Fair is launching a new section entitled “Promises” reserved for galleries that have been established for less than five years and who have never participated in the fair. Twelve galleries are taking part in this new initiative which aims to provide an opportunity to discover new talents.
ArtDesign: A Platform for The Links Between Art & Design
The Artdesign platform is exploring the links and cross-over between design and contemporary art. Nine cutting-edge galleries have been selected to present one-of -a-kind, exclusive pieces made by contemporary talents.
