Chen Wei received academic art training and gained life experience in both East and West in the 1980s. In the early 1990s, he came back from Paris and stayed in Taiwan since then. In addition to his teaching, he has never put aside his passionate exploration and innovation in art. Consequently, his work demonstrates not only his sophisticated command of skills but also unique creative styles. This exhibition features Chen’s works selected from the results of his regular art practice over the past decade, including figurative depictions and abstract expressions. The exhibition is therefore named Sparks from the Ordinary.
