The annual Kaohsiung Awards attract many outstanding artists in Taiwan to contend for one of the highest honors in Taiwan’s art circle. Most of the participants in this activity over the past years are now still active artists and many are starting to gain recognition locally and internationally. Therefore, the Kaohsiung Awards have been widely regarded by all the enthusiastic artists as an important milestone in their artistic careers.
The Kaohsiung Awards in 2014 attracted about six hundred artists from every corner in Taiwan who submitted works. After rounds of careful selection and review, five winners of the Kaohsiung Awards were selected, nine winners of "Excellent Work" Award, three winners of Observer’s Award, and several winners of Honorable Mention. The winning works demonstrate different levels of artistic strength and diversity, rich in vibrant vigor of artistic creation. Showcasing all the winning works, this exhibition is an exciting feast of art that cannot be missed.
