Forum for Creativity in Art The Burglar of Visual Signals: An Adventure Beyond Boundaries
Date: 26 Jul - 15 Oct 2011

Invited by the curator Chen Yi-chun to hold his solo exhibition, Chang Teng-yuan is an emerging artist who has won Kaohsiung Award and Taipei Arts Award. His work is a sort of “excavation of vision,” using animation to simulate experiences under different environments. This creative style is akin to a behaviour of “burglary.” Each of his works can become an evidence of his crime. Chang has turned “visual signals” into a kind of creative nutrient, allowing him to split them into different perspectives. The parasitic way has become the style of propagation for his visual experiences. It enables him to break away from the original routine, and continue on towards an imaginary land beyond boundaries.
