Lin Cheng-sheng: Om Amitabha Hrih (Infinite Light)
Artist(s): LIN Cheng-sheng
Date: 28 Jul - 28 Aug 2011

While working as a construction worker who has “the closest affinity to earth,” Lin Cheng-sheng is also engaged in learning and creating art. Lin has been in the field of artistic creation for over three decades. His art focuses on exploring two major topics over the years: external environmental pollution and internal self-reflection based on the wisdom of Buddhism. After the exhibition of his “assembly art” that used discarded objects to create installation works at the KMFA’s Gallery for Citizens in 2004, Lin challenges himself again by holding this exhibition also at Gallery for Citizens this year. On display in this exhibition are his recent paintings featuring printed images of Buddha and free splashes of rich colors overlapped on the canvas. These works demonstrate Lin’s self-reflection and his finding of peace of mind.
