Chang Yu-chi: A Game of Glass Mables
Artist(s): CHANG Yu-chi
Date: 16 Jun - 17 Jul 2011

Because of her long years accompanying and observing children with cerebral palsy, Chang has had the opportunity to look deeper inside these children in need of special care. She infuses what she has learned from them and from her own life into her works. She uses glass marbles instead of painting brushes to roll on canvas, leaving colorful traces to represent her thoughts, love, and care about the children, life, and faith. The unique colors and textures caused by the rolling marbles suitably represent Chang’s views of life and convey profound philosophical thinking about life and deep human concerns.
