Scope Basel 2013
Date: 10 Jun - 16 Jun 2013

SCOPE Art Show will present its seventh Basel edition in a new location: Klybeckquai, on the Rhine. An area that has been receiving a great deal of attention and political support from the City of Basel, Klybeckquai is quickly becoming a site for focused cultural development. SCOPE Basel is pleased to be at the forefront of this groundswell, mounting its 4,000 m2 pavilion in the heart of Klybeckquai, along with an extensive marketing campaign and engineering of collaborative efforts with many of the city’s most influential voices.

Featuring 75 international Exhibitors alongside 20 Breeder Program Galleries, SCOPE Basel 2013 will provide an extraordinary opportunity for visitors to experience a view of the contemporary art market available nowhere else. SCOPE’s presence will be highly visible; In addition to museumquality featured programming, SCOPE Basel will present monumental outdoor sculptures from artists featured in the Venice Biennale. Further celebrating the Biennale, SCOPE Basel has extended its vernissage to welcome an extended group of influential attendees whose impact on the cultural landscape is of inestimable importance.

Long-established as the original incubator for emerging work, SCOPE’s Breeder Program celebrates its 13th year of introducing new galleries to the contemporary market. A remarkable opportunity for unprecedented exposure, Breeder Program alumni include: Peres Projects, John Connelly Presents, Galeria Enrique Guerrero, Daniel Reich Gallery, Bischoff/ Weiss, INVISIBLE-EXPORTS, SEVENTEEN, ROKEBY, Taxter Spengemann, Magical Artroom and Spinello Projects, among other notable galleries.

SCOPE Basel opens to Press and VIP’s on Monday & Tuesday, June 10-11 with a two-day First View benefit from 1pm – 9pm, and will run June 12 -16, 2013.
