Milenko Prvacki has become one of the most important painters today. Over the past thirty years and more, Prvacki has continued to develop and refine his practice to a point where it has become a rich engagement with and dialogue between abstraction and the abstract. This exhibition will cover different periods of his work, ranging from the late Seventies when he was still living in Europe and his native country of Serbia, until his most recent work produced in Singapore, where he has been residing since the early 1990’s.
The selection for this exhibition will include distinct bodies of work in various mediums, including painting, watercolour, sculpture and installation. Against the notion that painting is dead, this retrospective will offer its audiences the opportunity to see that painting today is being constantly scrutinized and explored with a compelling sense of both its inherent risk of incoherence and sensuous beauty. Prvacki is one of those artists who only gets better.
