The Abstraction Of Waves
Artist(s): Ruyi WONG
Date: 19 Feb - 28 Feb 2011

The Abstraction of Waves is an mini solo exhibition with works base on-going process of the artist untying the mystery of representational and non-representational context of water. The Abstraction Of Waves is a series of video art-projections and surround sound art which are inspired by Veristic Surrealism, in which the artist form unusual relationships of simple objects, tangled girl, stray cats, concre…te walls, fire, nature and origami paper with water. Each object represents a different symbolic relationship with water in the life of the artist.

Come and experience the artist use of verbal automatism, which creates a haunting soundscape. The viewer is engaged in the fragments of the ideas and images, the colors and sounds that inhabit the imaginary space of the exhibited space. Soundscape is a very important part of the artist works: sound creates the atmosphere, adding mood and emphasis to certain visual elements. Audio creates a sonic dimension in the space resulting in the transformation of the physical space.
