Good Morning Mr. Orwell
Artist(s): GROUP SHOW
Date: 17 Jul - 16 Nov 2014

Good Morning Mr. Orwell was Nam June Paik’s monumental project that occurred on New Year’s day, 1984. It was a live television show linking New York and Paris via satellite as well as being broadcast in Germany and South Korea. 30 years after Paik anticipated the video world to come, the very future has become a reality now and it is striking that his insight is more than a wonder.

Good Morning Mr. Orwell 2014 is a special exhibition to reconstruct this unprecedented event with rare historical documents and materials, and also to revisit the event through the works of contemporary artists who join the exhibition to create new meanings of Paik’s project relevant today. Paik was an artist who believed in the importance of crosscultural understanding for a harmonious world all his life. I hope you could enjoy the special groove created in this exhibition, an exciting platform of communication that Paik ever envisaged.
