The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea is pleased to present Other Forms of Relations, the Final Exhibition of the Second Half of 2014, from November 14 to December 7, 2014.
This exhibition sheds light on the works of nine artists who have participated in international exchange programs including the UNESCO-Aschberg Bursaries for Artists Programme and the International Artists Residency Program, which were initiated by MMCA Residency Changdong. This year, in celebration of diplomatic ties with Denmark and Italy, we have broadened our international exchange by inviting artists recommended by leading arts institutions in those two countries.
For the past three to six months, artists from different cultural backgrounds (South Africa, Denmark, Germany, United States, Slovakia, Ireland, and Italy) created a variety of relationships with new surroundings through keen insight and subtle sensitivity.
The exhibition showcases site-specific installations that utilize studio space as well as experimental works in various media that include photography, video, and drawing. In addition, a performance with audience participation will be presented frequently in the exhibition hall.
The opening night will feature an open studio event that reveals the studios and working process of exhibiting artists and artists in studio. We also host musical performances to encourage public interest. For more detailed information about the exhibition and program, please visit MMCA website at http://www.mmca.go.kr.
