OCI Museum is pleased to feature a new exhibition by Kiyoul Cha, who has explored a relationship between nature and human in a perspective of the inception, memory, existence and circulation.

He has extended a basis of his work under subjects 'Floating soul,' 'A memory of ground,' 'A room for reason,' and 'A journey of circulation' for 20 years. Rethinking of everything's meaning and value and arousing them are his directing point for art.

In this exhibition, there is the artist's artistic journey introspectively exploring a relationship between nature and human accumulated. 'A journey of circulation', the subject he has considered for a while suggests a scope and journey of his work with a clue 'between ark and gangmok (divisions)' by implication. Again, the ark means the one by Noah as well as Western civilization, and gangmok is derived from 'Bonchogangmok', a botanical list, which represents Orientalism. That is, a symphony of 'civilization', symbolizing West, and 'nature', meaning East, so that the exhibition tries to show the artist's artistic spectrum , tracing memories of time and space belonged to an essence of existence in the circulation system of human and nature.

For artistic expression, he uses various mediums, from natural materials to symbolic icons of civilization. Those add artistic values through extended expression methods including site-specific installation, drawing, and painting. Also, he introduces new terra-cotta work in this exhibition which shows an expression of free consciousness and his will for art expression in depth.
