G-SEOUL International Art Fair has reached its fourth event this year.
Since the beginning G-SEOUL strives to become the leading premium art fair involving summit-level galleries in Asia. Recently, there have been dramatic changes to the Asian art fair market, evident from the introduction of Basel art fair into the Hong Kong market. G-SEOUL looks to actively adapt to these evolving markets by innovating on past operations and steadily improving the internal structure. G-SEOUL seeks to differentiate itself from any other art fairs in the Asia region by focusing specifically on Asian art. As the central art fair of Asia, G-SEOUL’s objective for the next three years is to prepare an opportunity to re-examine the Asian values.
In addition, G-SEOUL will be held at Seoul’s new landmark, DDP (Dongdaemun Design Park). DDP is a cutting edge structure designed by the worldly architect Zaha Hadid. Reaching 15 to 20 meters in internal ceiling level without any columns in the white exhibition area, the DDP will provide optimal space for artwork displays.
In particular, the scheduled G-SEOUL 14 dates are almost concurrent along with the official opening of the DDP, special exhibitions of Zaha Hadid and the new architecture. Exhibition of Gansong Art Museum, the largest antique arts and national treasures Museum in Korea, which was opened twice annually on a fortnight basis. Along with DDP opening, Gansong Museum’s permanent exhibition will be held at the DDP for three years. These events currently attract a considerable number of enthusiasts and VIP collectors of Korea.
