Korean Rhapsody: A Montage of History and Memory', on view from March 17 through June 5 at Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, showcases the dramatic shifts of Korea’s national identity since 1876. An evocative collection of art and historical documents from the modern era, Korean Rhapsody muses on the influence of history on art while exploring themes of historical consciousness and collective memory.
The show, divided into two parts(Part I, Symbols of Modernity (1876-1945), Part 2, Unfamiliar Hopes (1945-2011)), highlights a broad range of works from traditional landscapes to portraits, photography and video by 66 artists.
