Anything can be a self-portrait. A moment of beauty and clarity or disturbance and confusion, felt within ourselves though perhaps seen from without. Images of the ritual and spiritual can uplift us, or perhaps make us question our faith. Meanwhile, images of decay, dismay, and disturbance can tend to be just as spiritual for some, like me.
