Like Made in Germany (Germany), Helsinki School in Finland, PLAT(T)FORM in Switzerland, and yearly exhibition of MOMA, New Photography, public art museum’s focus on young artists has resulted in considerable controversy and heated debate, what we need in our photography field.
This show introduces a group of young artists’ first works, rarely shown previously. With this exhibition, the museum purposes to provide these young and potential artists with a chance to leaping into an international arena.
Carefully selected artists will get a chance to their start the wider audiences. Their works contain personal problems of young generation in Korea and reaction and questions for social issues. Also the artists' fundamental and serious questions and experimental spirits about 'photography' in the digital age can be found.
The artists have participated in Breda Photo Festival(2012) the Netherlands, Monat der Fotografie(2012) in Germany, 2013 Alt. +1000 Festival de Photographie in Switzerland, and Lianzhou Foto(2013) in China under the guidance of the artist and the professor, Kyung-Woo Chun, and they got a great attention internationally.
