Hanmi Museum of Photography is pleased to announce the group exhibition by Jerry Uelsmann, Maggie Taylor, Myung Duk Joo and Woon Gu Kang. This is the second exhibition of Uelsmann and Taylor in Korea.
Jerry Uelsmann selected about 70 photos, completed from 1950s to 2013, using 'hands' as a motif. Each gesture by hands in the photo is more immediate and humane communication than language. His analysis is connected to the concept of the group exhibition as well. Maggie Talyor shows the dream world reflecting unconscious and experience through recent works. Elaborate compose by Uelsmann and Taylor with analogue and digital techniques involves the reality.
Myung Duk Joo and Woon Gu Kang introduce digital color photos of cityscape and color photos of 'found image' and 'digital worship 1,2,3' series respectively. Like Uelsmann and Taylor, they also show amusement of image through compressed photos. While Uelsmann and Taylor try to reconstitution of a scene by post production, Joo and Kang capture a 'crucial scene' as forming layers in a moment or previous picture.
In this exhibition, four photographers will show both sides of photo and their pleasant coexistence.
