The Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) presents "Universal Studios, Seoul". This exhibition brings together the works of foreign artists who have been living and working long-term in Korea. Contemporary artists today travel to many countries around the globe and maintain their nomadic art practices. This is also a familiar phenomenon in the contemporary art scene of Korea. The thirteen artists invited to this exhibition are from ten different countries which include Japan, Germany, The Netherlands, UK, Spain, Canada, Czech Republic, India, Singapore, and Australia. Through these various works we expect the audience to encounter the issue of assimilation and dissimilation in cultures of different countries. Furthermore, a perspective onto the aesthetic differences and situations of the diasporic artist will be illuminated through this exhibition.
